BGS Bilgisan’s purpose statement, “Do good for people and the planet. Replace non-renewable materials with renewable products,” underscores our belief that everything made from fossil-based materials today can be made from a tree tomorrow, and highlights BGS Bilgisan’s opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Our goal, which guides our long-term direction and innovation, is to deliver fully regenerative solutions by 2050—products that remove more carbon than they emit and actively support the restoration of biodiversity.
We have set ambitious sustainability targets for 2030 in three areas where we have the greatest impact and opportunities: climate change, biodiversity, and circularity. These goals are grounded in our commitment to conducting our business responsibly.
Climate
Our climate action is based on sustainably managed forests, resource- and energy-efficient production, and products that provide low-carbon alternatives to non-renewable materials.
Bio diversity
Sustainable forest management preserves forest health and productivity, protects and enhances biodiversity, and ensures the long-term availability of renewable resources.
Circularity
To combat climate change, protect natural resources, and minimize waste, the world needs both renewable and recyclable materials—supporting a circular bioeconomy.
